Silver structures 2005-12-18 · Short-pulse laser ablation is promising owing to the low threshold for material removal from surfaces. In the laser-ablation process, solid material transforms into a volatile phase initiated by a 2019-10-30 · Femtosecond laser pulses far surpass the tissue interaction capabilities of other laser systems due to the unique non-linear, multiphoton interaction between fs laser-pulses and biological tissue. 2007-02-16 · In the case of femtosecond laser ablation of glass, a rather complicated and time consuming numerical solution is required to estimate the partition of the absorbed laser energy. In our calculations, we propose to use an 'effective optical light penetration depth' measured in our experiments to estimate the fraction of the incoming laser energy deposited in the glass as heat (thermal energy).
S1). Here, we report on formation of nanoprotrusions on the surface of a bulk crystalline silicon wafer under femtosecond-laser ablation with a donut-shaped laser beam. By breaking circular symmetry of the irradiating donut-shaped fs-pulse beam, a switch in geometry of the formed surface nanoprotrusions from regular to chiral was demonstrated. Liposuction is a plastic surgery technique that allows doctors to remove fat from patients. Doctors can perform liposuction in several ways, including a laser-assisted procedure known colloquially as laser lipo. Unless otherwise noted, the Cornea surgery patients may experience some common complications after the procedure, including a minor issue that causes cloudy vision. Eye doctors use YAG lasers to treat this complication. Learn more with this simple guide, which include Lasers - Lasers produce concentrated light.
The combination of a fiber laser and a HC-NCF, capable of emitting and delivering femtosecond pulsed, visible light, may permit a compact poration device to be developed.

Specific ablation rates of 0.7, 2.3, and 1.4 (mm 3 /min)/W are reached. We demonstrated a method of fabricating three-dimensional (3D) metal structures in hydrogels with good conductivity by using femtosecond laser ablation and electroplating. The hydrogel containing Ag+ was first ablated by a femtosecond laser to form microchannels with an entrance achieving surface and then sandwiched between the anode and cathode to operate electroplating.

To obtain the ablation parameters, laser ablation experiments were carried out on dental hard tissues using Ti:Sapphire femtosecond laser (800 nm, 100 fs, 10 kHz). The method is further extended to predict the ablation rate and efficiency as well. The profile predicted from the mathematical model is compared with that of experimental results.
Laser ablation of solid targets by 0.2–5000 ps Ti: Sapphire laser pulses is studied. Theoretical models and qualitative explanations of experimental results are presented.

2011-11-01 · The performance of femtosecond (fs) laser intrastromal ablation was evaluated with backscattering-mode adaptive-optics multiphoton microscopy in ex vivo chicken corneas. The pulse energy of the fs source used for ablation was set to generate two different ablation patterns within the corneal stroma at a certain depth.
Ablation spot geometries could be altered with the use of beam splitting optics or The mechanism of ablation of solids by intense femtosecond laser pulses is described in an explicit analytical form. It is shown that at high intensities when the ionization of the target material is complete before the end of the pulse, the ablation mechanism is the same for both metals and dielectrics. The surface topographical, compositional, and structural modifications induced in human enamel by femtosecond laser ablation is studied. The laser treatments were performed using a Yb:KYW chirped-pulse-regenerative amplification laser system (560 fs and 1030 nm) and fluences up to 14 J/cm2. Applied Spectra, Inc. custom builds the J200 Series Femtosecond Laser Ablation instrument to meet the most demanding material analysis challenges.
